He explained that the compensation for vehicles depends on the severity of the damage, if the vehicles are repairable then the coverage will be for the repair work and if the vehicle suffers irreparable damage then the compensation will be according to the market value or insurance value of the vehicle. , it is mandatory for insurance companies to provide insurance coverage against natural calamities for vehicles with comprehensive insurance from January 2018 as per Saudi government directives.
The Economic Adviser on Insurance and Reinsurance Matters pointed out that the limit of insurance coverage in respect of damage to the insured vehicle is the limit fixed by the insurer, which is equal to the value of the vehicle to the extent that the vehicle results in any loss.
As for third-party damage coverage, the maximum limit is 10 million Saudi Riyals, split equally between bodily injury and property damage.
